Welcome to the official site of the upcoming fanfilm Devil May Cry: The Tears of Sparda, which is based on the popular and immensely kickass videogame series Devil May Cry. (If you haven’t played it, what are you doing on the internet! You’re missing out on the greatest action game of all time!)
For those of you who don’t yet know anything about the project or have just heard it mentioned on another site and want to know more, I will start things off with a brief introduction to TTOS, why it is being made, who it is being made by, and what we aim to achieve.
Tired of waiting for the harsh and remorseless gears of Hollywood to finally start turning and churn out a quite likely awful Devil May Cry movie, we decided to take it upon ourselves as huge fans of the series, to get there first, and make something that hopefully, DMC fans everywhere can watch and enjoy. As you might expect, we do not have a monster budget, nor do we have top notch A-list actors, or any direct support or approval from Capcom, but we do however have a profound love of all things 'Dante' and unlike the callous and greedy directors who always seem to be handed the job of big screen videogame adaptations, we are not supporting some alternative agenda, we are not in this for the money, and we are not tied down by the demands of any higher power who feels the license would sell better if we changed the whole story, this is a completely non-profit venture, and our only aim is to make the best Devil May Cry film that we can, and do the fans proud. As a true fan film should be, TTOS is made by and for the fans, and remains loyal to what DMC is. And don’t think we are a bunch of inexperienced children either, low budget though we are, half the cast are trained actors with stage experience, and pretty much all of the crew have worked professionally in their respective fields, and have the University degrees to prove it. Our prop designer and make up artist has even worked on a variety of big budget motion pictures. And of course, we are all fiercely dedicated to the project, and doing the absolute best job possible.
